Greek identity

2013: The crisis in Europe is familiar to most of us. Media gives us knowledge of allegations of corruption, the political game and the increasing proportion of unemployed. But how is the ordinary human mind affected by this? Is it still strongly attached to its identity and history? Do people turn to religion more often than before?
These questions led me to Athens, Greece. The most important thing for me was to tell the truth. In order to achieve that, I wanted to get to know the people, find out if there is any hope left in the Greek soul. I learned that the story is a lot more fragmented than we read about in the media. Greece is more than demonstrations, politics and anger, but also hope, unity and a strong attachment to their identity.

This picture series is presented as triptychs. A triptych is originally a three-part altarpiece which, together, is supposed to tell a story.
